Hey Sis! I'm Fatima, mom, mompreneur, career-woman and mentor whose mission is to motivate BIPOC women, especially moms to go from surviving to thriving. Our children deserve for us to be great women – their super sheros, and extraordinary moms – remarkable examples of how valuable they are. I know what it’s like to be a teen mom, navigating a world that often sees you as a statistic. I’ve known the exhaustion of being a single mother, making sacrifices every day to ensure my children had a better life. Throughout it all, one thing remained constant: the struggle. The struggle to make ends meet, the struggle to be seen, and the struggle to prioritize my own well-being. Like many Black women, I put everyone else first. My health, my happiness, and my peace of mind were often put on the back burner. With a health scare a few years ago, I finally understood that prioritizing my wellness was a non-negotiable. It was a form of self-love, a way to reclaim my strength and ensure I could be there for my loved ones for years to come.
Along the way, I realized I wasn’t alone. Most women that look like me were navigating the same challenges - feeling tired, overwhelmed, trying to find themselves, striving to make ends meet, looking for ways to meaningfully connect with their children, and longing for something more.
And so, S.I.S. was born - a creation from the heart and soul, for all the women out there in search of their well-being.
My heart is with S.I.S.,
I am S.I.S. and S.I.S. is me.
S.I.S. has always been committed to seeing women flourish and gain better life harmony. Beginning as a social Meetup Group in 2018 Sisters In Strength, (formerly Fabuluxe Ladies Social Network) hosted gatherings at local restaurants, women getaways, ladies' night out and brunches where meaningful discussions on various topics were conducted. Distinguished experts from diverse fields were invited to educate, empower, and inspire the participants.
These monthly meetups served as the cornerstone for S.I.S. to expand its support by introducing comprehensive wraparound services. In 2024, S.I.S. expanded from a social group to a non-profit women's organization to be able to ensure everything we do is tangible and has maximum impact. Since our inception, our Women Empowerment Non-Profit Organization has remained unwavering in its dedication to the core principles of sisterhood, support, and service.
Today, our focus has evolved, and we continue to make a meaningful impact by helping women and young moms thrive through a variety of avenues, including workshops, events, mentorship and wellness programs. Our ultimate hope is for every woman who interacts with our organization to find a program that resonates with her unique aspirations and needs. As well as grow our outreach, provide support, expand our key programs and our commitment to the hundreds of women and moms we serve each year.
Sisters In Strength, Inc is in the process of establishing a Board of Directors to provide oversight and strategic guidance. As a growing nonprofit, our Board is currently in a foundational phase. We are intentionally building a leadership team that reflects the values of this organization and brings wisdom, lived experience, and professional insight into our work. We are currently welcoming individuals who feel called to serve in a leadership capacity and support the mission of S.I.S.
